The customer need
A 1991 legacy logo called for a refresh that honors history while modernizing how families discover and trust the studio.
What I shipped
Final logo system, refreshed brand kit, bilingual studio website, and brand applications across apparel, bags, and storefront visualization.
Key challenge — Communication
The owner spoke limited English (mostly Mandarin); I spoke limited Mandarin (mostly English). I navigated this by presenting more visual aids and mockups for each design decision.
Step 1 — Logo refresh
Step 1
Logo refresh
I explored several stylistic paths for visual direction and typography, presenting to the client using side-by-side mockups.

Step 2 — Launch website
Step 2
Launch website
The studio needed a public-facing hub where both English and Mandarin speaking families could find class and enrollment information, expanding the studio's online presence beyond word of mouth and in-person conversations.
Bilingual audience
While Mandarin speaking customers made up most of the customer base previously, the studio was rapdily gaining traction from English speaking customers. To compensate for both, I built and perfected an English site first, used AI to generate a Chinese version, and had family members review the translation for accuracy.
Step 3 — Long-term impact
Stronger, cohesive brand identity
The refreshed logo and website established a shared visual baseline for every ongoing touchpoint from class apparel to the physical studio facade, so the business could scale and remain visually cohesive and professional.
Merchandise
Apparel & bags
Designed apparel and bags to extend the refreshed logo into physical touchpoints students and families see every week.
