Part 1 — The customer need
Context
Founders’ vision for wellness supplements
The founders shared a conceptual vision: supplements that revitalize health and wellbeing and help people feel youthful, radiant, and carefree. I was tasked with translating those ideas into a logo and brand identity that could carry through every product and touchpoint.
Part 2 — Logo creation
Brand name & meaning
Merigold
The brand name, “Merigold”, combines two primary words together: marigold (the bright yellow flower) and merry-go-round (the carnival ride). First, I chose “marigold” the flower because they are both outwardly bright and evoke joy, while also having deeper symbolic meanings of warmth and affection in many cultures. Second, the idea of a merry-go-round was chosen to connect our brand to youthfulness and pure, unbridled happiness kids experience on merry-go-rounds. Merigold supplements hope to aid customers achieve that same state of radiance through prioritizing health and wellness.
